Whenever you place an ad, or want to send someone a link to your site in an email, remember to add the http:// to the front of your url, for example, you would type http://www.mysite.com and not just www.mysite.com. Using http:// will make your url into a link that people can click on and go to your site.
Banners - uploading and saving
Lots of people have questions on this. There are basically two ways to upload a banner. A third way involves HTML if you build a web site.
The first way involves saving a banner on your server, then you have to give your banner url to whatever program you are using so they can display it. If you don't have access to a server, you can't do this. A site like Homestead.com will get you a free server if you build a free website there. Then you import your banner file to the server, and click 'view file' to see the banner url. If you have more questions on this method, please email me.
Most programs will just let you upload a banner file from your computer C: drive, which is the easiest method. First, to save a banner to your C: drive go to the page that has the banner you want. Right click on it and choose 'Save' or 'Save Target As'. Give a name to the banner you want to save so you will remember it, then choose a file where you want to save it to in your C: drive (I recommend creating a file just for banners). The file you save should be a .gif or a .jpg or .jpeg file. If it is a bitmap file it won't work.
Next, go to the site where you want to upload your banner. Usually you click 'Upload banner', then find the banner file you want to use in your C: drive and highlight it by clicking it. Then click 'Ok' and the program should grab the banner from your C: drive. Remember to enter a url for your banner (the site you want people to go to when they click your banner).
Posting to FFA sites or free email safelists
If you post to FFA sites or free email safelists, remember to set up a 'dummy' email account just for these postings. These sites will send you hundreds of confirmation emails, and you don't want them going to your real email account because it's a hassle. Set up a free email account at hotmail or yahoo just for this. Remember to delete the emails once in a while to prevent your mailbox from being full and bouncing emails, as this might get your membership cancelled for email safelists.
Writing a Good Ad
Create a good headline. The headline is the first thing people see, and if it's an email you're sending out the subject line must be attention grabbing. You are competing with other people's email, you want yours to be opened. Check out other people's headlines and see which ones grab your attention. What makes you open an email from someone you don't know?
Content. Describe how your offfer can benefit someone. Don't try to sell your product too much in your ad, create enough interest to get people to visit your site. Your site should do the selling, you just want people to go there. If your site offers a free ebook or download, mention it in the ad. Tell people how they can benefit from visiting your site!

Free Banner Exchanges: Go to Free-Banners Exchange and join. You will have to add your banners for each of your websites (see banner info at top of page). Sign up other people and you get a percentage of their visits too.
EZINE ADS - (Look below for free ezine advertising)
Here are some top recommended ezines for advertising your business. Cost is usually around $10 to $40 for a 20 to 40 word ad. A good way to get your ad in front of a targeted audience (people interested in online business).
Some forums allow outright advertising, while others don't or have a specific board for advertising only. But you are always allowed to put your link after your signature, which lets people know what business you are associated with, and they can visit your site. Just make sure you read the rules before posting to a board.
From my experience it's good to pay for some programs that help you advertise, or that advertise for you. Or if you can find a good business or MLM ezine, try placing an ad (see below). Here are some programs I recommend and use myself.
Linkscout - Create your ownsearch engine suite. Sign up others and get your listing shown on their site. Free members can have up to 6 listings. For a low one-time fee you can submit unlimited listings, collect email addresses, add unlimited banners that will be rotated on your pages, post and save unlimited FFA links to the Linkscout FFA network (very handy) and more. Plus you earn a 50% commission on anyone you sign up who also upgrades.
Super Promoter -- These safe email lists allow you to email the entire list once per week free, or you can pay to upgrade and submit your email ad every day. You need to set up a dummy email account (see above) for these that will receive the email ads from other people, plus submit your 'real' email address for them to contact you. They also have other submitters to FFA and Classified ad sites you can use, and a url submitter to search engines.
